“Big League Hockey”- meaning the NHL. CBS broadcast regular season NHL games on Saturdays from Jan. 1957 to Mar. 1960. This was a very big deal as CBUT didn’t connect to the CBC national network until July of 1958. So for two seasons KVOS was the first and exclusive home for the NHL in The Lower Mainland. As CBS only broadcast from U.S. cities the Montreal Canadiens only appeared three times in those two seasons. The Leafs, never. Rogan Jones sure cleaned up on ad sales those two seasons.
