Saturday night is western night in Seattle. KVI, KOMO, KIRO & KAYO all have either western serials or western music on tap. Even KING gets a shot with the “Lone Ranger” inserted between DJ/music shows. KVOS ch 12 was still operating as an “indie” in 1954 airing mostly movies. It wouold be another year before a secondary affiliation with CBS would begin using off-air reception of KTNT ch 11 as a network programming source. Kirkland’s KRKL would soon up it’s power to 1 kW & switch calls to KNBX (same owners)
