Here are two clips of Seattle jazz DJ extraordinaire Jim Wilke recorded April 14 & 21, 1966 at KING-FM 98.1. I just purchased a new CD by the Wynton Kelly Trio with Wes Montgomery “Smokin’ In Seattle: Live at The Penthouse” on Resonance Records. Jim Wilke does a station ID & introduces the group on two of the songs. His excellent “Live At The Penthouse” remotes were heard Thursday evenings at 9:30 on KING-FM at that time. The recording quality is excellent & certainly transfers well to the CD. Jim can currently be heard Sunday afternoons at 2pm on KNKX 88.5 with “Jazz Northwest” often featuring live remotes & recordings of regional jazz talent. Jim Wilke in the past also hosted jazz on KUOW, and the syndicated “Jazz After Hours” from American Public Radio
