06/01/06 – KIXI AM 880 Seattle has abandoned its local live and voice tracked programming in favor of the Music of Your Life satellite feed featuring voice tracking by celebrity DJs such as Gary Owens, Wink Martindale and Peter Marshall. The change was effective at midnight…A Sandusky official said the change, effective early Thursday, was made in an effort to boost KIXI’s stagnant ratings in the Seattle-Tacoma market. Sad move back then..as KIXI’s long time morning host JIM DAI, mid-day host and PD Bob Brooks (who took over mid-days when Bob Dearborn left the station around 2003) ..and great evening host Jack Morton had to say their goodbyes. Sandusky (now ‘Hubbard Radio’ the owners) kept current Ops Mgr Dan Murphy on – and he’s been there for 25 years now – still afternoons 3-7pm.
