Hey Jay! I was poking around online and found your posts on this site. I have no other way of getting in touch, so I figured I'd leave a message here. I hope you're doing well. Ron Harris.
Ron: How the hell are you? The last I heard (I believe) you were doing radio in Boise, Idaho. Is that still true ... or was it ever true?
It's strange, but I also just heard from another ol' Seattle radio 'n Broadcast Programming alum, Chris Mays. Plus, from a guy I knew when I was at KPOK in Portland. What is that old saying "My ears must have been burning"? Anyway, something like that!
My wife, Naomi, and I recently returned from a 4 and a half month cruise around the world and I just turned 84 last month. What have you been up to? Hope you're doing well...my best to you.
Ron: I assume many will remember you from your time at K-Plus (KPLZ) and "The End" in Seattle. I see I was correct about you going in Boise, Idaho. I discovered this article about your time there...which I'll give a link to for those who may be interested. (Still wondering if you remained in Idaho).

This music chart from KJR's Fab 40 in August 1973 has "Why Me" by Kris Kristofferson at #19. Yesterday, in Hana, Hawaii, the legendary songwriter died at the age of 88. Kris was not always touted as a great singer. As a member of The Highwayman (along with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash), Willie Nelson remarked as Kris came to a recording session with laryngitis and proclaimed he could not sing, Willie's legendary response was: "How can you tell?".
Kris also parlayed his good looks into starring roles in a number of motion pictures. Kristofferson's death on Saturday (September 28th) leaves us all with "Sunday Morning Coming Down".
Perhaps this might be appropriate:
