Bremerton resident Stephen Hyde recorded this top-of-the-hour legal ID from KARR & it definitely verifies that the station has flipped to oldies/classic hits/class rock

  • I’m so sad to lose the great oldies (but happy to find this thread). I wish there was something we could do. It sure was great while it lasted.

  • Ya, I turned it on too earlier this week to listen (as usual) and found the same crappy boring news. I live in the Cascade/Fairwood area and like several of the other posters here, I just stumbled onto KARR last year and have been a regular listener ever since.... well until now. I figured the commercials would eventually start but I would have never guessed something like this. I remember KBSG started with no commercials but of course that was a well funded station. Does broadcasting news generate some sort of revenue that just playing music doesn't? I don't know. I'm up for any suggestions as to how I/we could get it back or what can be done. I'll keep checking back here to see if anything comes up.

    • If you don't mind streaming music, you can try WCBS-FM out of New York. "Where all the good songs have gone."

    • ugh. like we need more of that crap. Oldies was really fun to listen to. How do we get it back and help Mr. Dalke?

      • I found - and fell in love with - 98.5 FM 6 or 8 months ago. LOVED the REAL Golden Oldies.
Now, suddenly, it's All Fox News All The Time. I don't care at all for how they spin their version of news.

  • So sad. I call this the magic station at our house. Best music, PSA's instead of commercials-Magic. When I first discovered the channel I forbid anyone to turn the radio off or change the station for fear it would disappear. Sadly it seems it has. I hope the magic returns.

  • I've really enjoyed listening to these songs and the radio especially without commercials. Discovered the station by accident and have had a preset for it on the radio in my kitchen. I figured it was only a matter of time before reality set in. As of this morning, the format switched to nothing but PSA's and Fox News...no music.

  • Yeah, it would be brutal, hearing those 20 tunes over and over again. Thanks, for the update, Nathan.
