At the time of this ad, Spokane’s KXLY-TV channel 4 was the most powerful of the TV signals in that market. It’s signal penetrated much of the eastern part of our state, as well as south-central & southeastern BC, northern Idaho & northwest Montana. It would be a few years before competitors KREM-TV ch 2 & KHQ-TV ch 6 would follow suit with high powered signals. Unusual among KXLY-TV’s translators were four legal & licensed translators in the south Kootenay regions of BC. KREM-TV & KHQ-TV also added translators in this region & these all still exist to this day.
