UPDATE: July 15, 2019 / Hey guys, I decided to retire from radio today. Would’ve been 39 years this September. I’ve made countless friends, acquaintances and those few that can hold sway over my work catalogue. So, that’s it. You still MAY find me on-air, eventually. I’d like that very much. I’ve been in talks w others regarding that and other projects have presented themselves. Whatever I decide w Wendy, will be great. I’ve gotta go for it while I’m young (clears throat). Please continue to support local radio and those stations that provide a friendly voice in the midst of the maelstrom. Much love.
June 1, 2019 — Oldies 95.3 KGY midday (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) personality Steven B. (Stephen Schlenker) will be off the air while recovering from medical issues.
“I’m going to be taking a sabbatical from radio for awhile as I continue to improve from medical issues. So, I’ll be off the air for the time being. Who knows how long? I’m getting better and I appreciate the love and continued support. I want to thank KGY and implore you to keep listening to this great, local station. To those who follow my personal page…thank you for helping make this happen. I hope to talk to you again soon on 95.3, KGY. The staff and mgt. are top notch.”

Bob Orndorff posted yesterday on Facebook— I’m devastated, woke up this morning finding out my fellow radio brother Stephen Schlenker or as he was known Steven B has passed away. We worked together in Moses Lake at KWIQ and later I convinced Glen Connolly to hire him at KMAS. RIP ol buddy you will be missed.
