KOMO-4 TV  today reports that well-known & popular weather forecaster Steve Pool has announced his retirement after 40 years in broadcasting – most of it spent at KOMO-4.  A University of Wash. graduate, he began his career at Channel 4 in the late 1970’s as an intern. In Sept. 2018, Steve revealed his diagnosis of prostate cancer & took time off to seek treatment.  Happily, Steve’s cancer is now in remission.  However, he now feels it’s time to turn the weather maps over to a replacement.

During his career, he won several Emmy awards as a weathercaster for KOMO-TV and host of the award-winning nationally syndicated show “Front Runners”.  Tune in at 11 p.m. Monday as KOMO‘s Molly Shen talks with Steve about his cancer treatment and health.  At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Steve will return to KOMO-4 for a farewell forecast. “Seattle Refined” will also have a retirement special at 3 p.m. Tuesday, and KOMO‘s Eric Johnson will have a special “Eric’s Heroes” on him at 6 p.m. the same day.  Farewell Steve Pool from QZVX!  We wish you all the best for your retirement!
