Fitz named new host of “Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40”

“98.9 The Bull” KNUC morning host Cory Fitz has been named the successor host of  “Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40” starting Jan. 4, 2020.  The new show is the result of a just signed deal among Hubbard, Skyview and Kingsley widow Nan Kingsley’s KCCS Productions.  The show will feature audio from Kingsley’s archives dating back to the 1970’s when he began hosting syndicated country music shows.  Some of Kingsley’s classic interviews will be integrated into the new program. The longtime production team remains in place, including Producer Ken Halford, Chief Engineer Roger Ramsey, GM & Affiliate Sales Lead Shawn Studer, Associate Producer & Archivist Barbara Lyon, and Nashville-based interviewer and writer Deborah Evans-Price.  Fitz already hosts one weekend country countdown show: “The Hit List With Fitz,” and will begin transitioning its 85 affiliates to “Country Top 40” next month. He also hosts the syndicated “Nashville Minute With Fitz.”  Fitz told  AllAccess.com “I listened to Bob Kingsley every weekend when I was a kid,” he noted. “His loss is still sinking in, but I am honored to be taking the reins from the man who instilled in me a lifelong love of Country music and the love of the countdown. This moment is surreal, and I do not take the responsibility lightly. I am excited and honored to carry his torch and hope that I can do for the next generation of Country music fans what the legendary Bob Kingsley did for me. I am grateful to Nan Kingsley and hope to make her and Bob proud!” The show originally debuted in 2006 & is now carried on more than 300 stations.
