One of the most influential voices in the history of radio, Rush Limbaugh, revealed that he has advanced lung cancer. At the end of his program today, Limbaugh stated that the problem became evident in recent weeks and that he will be undergoing treatment to fight the disease. He said he hopes to continue his radio program, being absent only as necessary during this battle. The Rush Limbaugh program has been on the air for over 30 years. The Rush Limbaugh format propped up AM radio to a degree in the ’80s, as music had moved to FM, and AM radio depended on newsradio and religion formats.
