Bonneville president Darrell K. Brown

Bonneville International, owner of “710 ESPN” KIRO-AM, news/talk 97.3 KIRO-FM & conservative talk 770 KTTH has promised no lay-offs, pay cuts or furloughs due to the pandemic.  Company president Darrell K. Brown has informed staff & management that there are no plans for any cuts, unlike most of the other large broadcasting groups.  Brown told AllAccess.com “Bonneville has always prioritized our purpose above our profits. Our mission and the reason our company was created was to be a trusted voice that builds up, informs, connects and celebrates the families and communities we serve, and there is a great need right now for all of those things.”  Regarding job security, the release noted, “All employees except for essential personnel are working remotely,” and Darrell Brown added Bonneville, “has no present plans to cut jobs. Full and part-time employees who would otherwise lose hours due to the cancellation of events and some programming are now assisting other departments.” He continued, “We are taking advantage of this time to provide employees with additional training and we hope all employees with extra time will look for safe ways to serve within their neighborhoods and communities.”

Bonneville is a class act demonstrating to the industry the value of it’s employees and on-air personalities as an integral part of the company’s success.  Instead of making the pandemic an excuse to cut staff & operating budgets, Bonneville is drawing on it’s strengths as a profitable broadcaster to weather the temporary downturn in advertising revenues (Mike Cherry)
