March 16, 1976 — Dirty movies in your neighborhood? A city Council might hearing on an adult theater license renewal will be broadcast tonight on KRAB. The broadcast is set for 6:30 PM, with 90 minutes blocked in for the public hearing.
Bob Wepner, assistant manager at KRAB, said he expected great listener interest.
“In a period of widespread citizen apathy,” Wepner mused, “it’s interesting to see an issue which draws such intense interest.”
Participants likely to be heard are Roger Forbes, licensee of the Ridgemont Theater and members of a Greenwood District citizen group who have objected to adult movie fare at the theater. The hearing is to be held in City Council Chambers.

Tomorrow, in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, KRAB presents a day of the Irish, “a program to inspire the green in your wallet to jig over to an envelope and mail itself to the nearest listener-supported radio station,” the station’s program guide professes.
The day begins at about 9 AM with Irish fairytales and recollections by elderly Irish-American citizens. Highlights will also include live broadcasts of the St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Globe Cellar restaurant, featuring the Irish-American String Band, in both afternoon and evening sessions.
Also to be heard during the day will be assorted recorded Irish music, readings from Irish history and a locally produced preview of the Stage One theater’s production of Yeats’ “The Only Jealousy of Emer.”
