UPDATE** Includes statement from CLIFF MASS (below)

KIRO News Director John LaPorte has tendered his resignation and will be relocating back to Wisconsin in early September. John has accepted a new position as Assistant News Director of WDJT TV, the Weigel Broadcasting Owned CBS Affiliate in Milwaukee.

Julian Nieh, known as Julian On The Road at WILD 94.9 San Francisco, is the new night jock at Seattle’s KQMV MOVIN 92.5 FM.

FROM KNKX concerning CLIFF MASS: “His post on his personal blog compares recent events in Seattle to Kristallnacht, the 1938 pogrom carried out by n–i Germany, and draws distorted, offensive parallels between protesters and n–i Brownshirts. We abhor the comparison and find it sensationalized and misleading — it does not reflect who we are and what we stand for at KNKX.”

The segment Weather with Cliff Mass will no longer air on KNKX.

CLIFF MASS writes:
KNKX put out a false statement, which management knew was incorrect. Particularly, my blog was about violent individuals and never suggested that peaceful protestors were brownshirts or anything else. They said my blog had false information, but never stated what was wrong. In truth, they reacted in panic when activists mobbed them over social media. KNKX was saved to provide diversity in the regional radio market. This action was a rejection of the very reason the station was saved and was both unethical and contradictory to basic democratic principles.
