When I was about thirteen, on some Saturdays I and a buddy used to prowl the Seattle waterfront from Alaskan Way up to First Avenue. There was a trick shop on First that sold magic books, props, shaved playing cards, joy buzzers, whoopee cushions, loaded dice etc. They also sold those exaggerated bow ties that every aspiring magician needed. Now here’s Howard sporting one! Where’s his lick-and-stick pencil-thin ‘stache?
