Talk show host, JOE PYNE.

July 2, 1969 – KSND has begun airing the Joe Pyne talk show twice daily. The early morning show starts at 5 a.m. There is a new show each evening at 9 p.m.

Irving Clark Jr. has taken a summer sabbatical. In his stead, Howard hall, familiar as the morning host of Telescope on King 5, will substitute on the radio talk show Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday on KING AM. The Wednesday evening show will be hosted by Guy Shehane. Shehane is a radio amateur, although he has appeared on Clark’s program as characters such as Doctor Fontanelle, Major Aquarius Aquabane, and several other ficticious personalities. Shehane started as a caller to the show, but now he is a host. Shehane said, “The Fontanelle family has a motto that I agree with. If something is worth doing, it is worth doing for money.”

The History of Rock & Roll on KJR begins at 6 p.m. tomorrow, and continues through to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Dick Harris is on his way to Denmark to prepare for a live, 30 minute Independence Day broadcast which will be a special feature on KIRO’s Public Pulse.

KETO FM is making a letter-appeal, the results of which will help fill out the station’s July 4 broadcast day. John Maxson, program director, plans to read letters on the topic: “I Love America Because…” near the top of each hour on the holiday.
