I can imagine their first show: 3 hours of new records by Frank Sinatra, Beach Boys and Grand Funk Railroad. Cool!

KREN, the worst-run station in the Puget Sound area, followed closely by KAYE…I see KSND had a Capitol Records promoter selecting music.
    Would that be paid programming?

I have read stories on this site about KURB. I guess they now have announced pay to play. I listen to a do wop show on the net on Sunday nights (WATD) and twice they played a pay to play. Not a bad record. At least listeners now know. Maybe that will be a new way to get exposure? It also cracks me up. Country music Monday through Saturday and classical music on Sunday,s.

Pay to play? I think that is still illegal. PAYOLA?

Is it still illegal if they announce it? “You pay it, we play it. You don’t, we won’t.”

Let’s see what’s in the mail. From Boot Camp Records, “Spit Shine” by The Expector 8, and lookie, there are eight crisp dollar bills and some white dust. All the boys chipped in. The note reads, “Pleeeze.” Very sweet. We will play this because we are being paid. We are being paid. We are being paid. We are being paid.
