• 1969 ... one heck of a year! Memorable for the good and for the bad. Here in Seattle, the Boeing 747 made its debut. In France, the Concorde had its first test flight. If you liked your transportation a little lower to the ground, the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was introduced ... the epitome of muscle cars. ~ If music was your thing, Woodstock attracted upwards of 350,000 rock and roll fans and the Beatles gave their last public performance on the roof of Apple Records in London. Hippies were getting high and Neil Armstrong and "Buzz" Aldrin were getting even higher with Apollo 11 and becoming the first humans to set foot on the moon. The average income was $8,550 a year ... average rent was $135 a month and you could buy a house for $15,550.00 (average cost). ~ Among the bad news that year was the Manson cult family. Followers of that sociopath ended up murdering five people. Protest marches against the Vietnam War continued with 250,000 marching in Washington DC. and the first troop withdrawals began that year.
  Some fairly memorable stuff in 1969.

• This is great nostalgia! Buck Ritchey and Bobby Wooten were wonderful! July 20th of 69, we landed on the Moon!
