I never worked with Dick Weeks in radio, but got to know him in the Tacoma Kiwanis Club. My understanding is that his extensive Personal Choice listeners' birthday list from the talk show became a useful mailing list for his Personal Choice Travel agency, which continued for many years after radio. My wife and I took a lovely Alaska cruise hosted by Dick for Personal Choice Travel.
I have never been on a cruise. And I have never been to Spain. But I kind of like the music. Had Chris Wedes thought of it, he could have compiled a birthday-contact list unlike any other. He could have used that to solicit business for his personal appearances.
Yes. Yes. ha ha ha ha. (hard to make that sound in print) He was Tacoma,s Herb Jebko
Fair comparison. It was good local radio. Not exciting, but community involvement and great for the stations. Dick Weeks' show ran on KTAC, KMO and KTNT over the life of the program.
