Funeral services will be held today for Barbara Blake, formerly with KKNW Seattle, KYOT Phoenix, KKSF San Francisco, and the Smooth Jazz Sunday Brunch on KTWV (94.7 The Wave)/Los Angeles, who died Thursday evening, June 10 in Santa Monica after a brief illness. She was 80 years old. After she left KTWV she did online shows, formed citizenplanet.com, and hosted a podcast and monthly blog.

Jeetz
(AUDACY Press Release) Audacy welcomes Jeetz as morning show co-host for 92.3 KGON (KGON-FM) in Portland. Jeetz will join “Terry Boyd’s World,” weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. PT, effective June 16.

“Jeetz has proven himself to be a tireless, fearless entertainer since we plucked him from the promotions street team and put him on KISW back in 2004,” said Kim Martinez, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Portland. “Terry has been a winner in Portland for years, and with his addition, we’ve put together a world-class team to take ‘Terry Boyd’s World’ and this legendary brand to new heights.”

“It’s a beautiful day. From this great city, to this legendary classic rock station, to the staff, to the leadership, to the company, this gig checks so many best-case scenario boxes for me I literally couldn’t have hand picked a better opportunity,” said Jeetz. “Though what really got this deal done was they promised Remy Maxwell would DJ my kid’s fifth birthday party. I’d like to thank Kim Martinez, Terry Boyd, Doug Abernethy, and especially Ryan Castle for always believing in me. PDX, let’s get weird!”

Jeetz spent the bulk of his career in various roles at sister station 99.9 KISW (KISW-FM) in Seattle. He also served as Program Director for KZND in Anchorage, morning show Producer for sister station Hot 103.7 (KHTP-FM) in Seattle, morning show co-host for sister station X107.5 (KXTE-FM) in Las Vegas and afternoon drive host on Hubbard’s KVRQ in Seattle.

Note that KKNW was on 106.9 FM back around 1991 & Blake also spent some time doing weekends at KMTT when it was around.
