I am beyond grateful for my 21 years @komonews. I have decided to not seek a new contract. My last day is Friday. I have been lucky to work alongside the best at KOMO and in the Seattle Sports Media. A new adventure awaits in Seattle. But first, some time on the water. Cheers! (Twitter announcement)

“A new adventure awaits in Seattle”……I notice a pattern when TV folks quit their current jobs….they never tell us specifically what their next job opportunity is gonna be…should I assume there is some sort of “gag order” agreement in their contracts?

Have been watching and wondering as KOMO had seemingly “dropped” sports coverage. Then last night they introduced a new sports director and I wondered if Ferreri had left Sinclair or Sinclair had canned him. Now we know. Always thought he was best in Seattle. Going to miss his coverage. To me, the guy at KIRO is now the best.

I’ll miss Mike. He is one of my favorite sports anchor among the local tv stations.
Sinclair just made one big mistake.
Mike, may you enjoy your partial retirement. Hope to hear from you soon.

I too will miss one of my favorite sports broadcasters..seems the station has watered down the sports side,or maybe its just the inexperienced newbies coming aboard….dont know. I see Mike has a linkedin account as a Windemere Realtor..hope you will do well selling people their dream homes. Going to miss you. Good luck!

The current sportscaster on KOMO 4 who took over for Mike Ferreri and Femi A. Is absolutely awful. He is so bad that I will be watching other sports coverage.

Femi Abebefe is now an anchor at the Sports Betting Network, VSiN. Not sure whether he will be moving to Vegas or feeding it to VSiN via Skype.
