For many years I had a 4 channel recording of the KIRO quad program. Somewhere along the passage of time, that recording can no longer be found.
The fourth installment was actually posted on YouTube by KIRO-TV several years ago: https://youtu.be/ohutTMuM3z8
I set up our living room with the stereo FM, AM radio and TV. Overall, I was not impressed. No matter how good your stereo system is, quadraphonic or not, the quality of the sound you hear is based on the environment. The room you are in. Speakers directly ahead, combined with speakers 55 degrees to either side of the listener, provide the most attractive soundstage. (NYTIMES Sound, The Way The Brain Prefers To Hear It. https://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/06/science/06sound.html) At the age of 15, I wasn't going to try to figure those angles. Besides, I was not a fan of the music being played.
