A Highland Park, Michigan man was charged last week in connection with the fatal stabbing of longtime Detroit radio DJ John O’Leary. Sean William Lamoureux, 38, is charged with open murder and larceny. Lamoureux is accused of attacking O’Leary with a sharp object. Police said the former DJ’s body was found buried under debris in his own backyard. Friends say O’Leary had recently fallen on hard times.

Radio Ink reports — Former Detroit DJ, 68-year-old John O’Leary was murdered in his home over the weekend. He was stabbed to death, allegedly by a roommate, according to police. O’Leary worked at WWWW (W4), WABX, WLLZ, and most recently at WCSX all in Detroit. Brian Major, an area concert promoter and close friend of the DJ, said he positively identified O’Leary’s body at the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office Monday afternoon. Police had been unable to locate a relative, and Major said the disc jockey had no immediate living family members.

    I went to Clinton elementry with John from 2nd grade thru 6th.also went to st Gregory’s for catichsem.his mother would drive him and I. Also knew his brother Tim. John was adopted so was his brother,from what I was told.his adopted parents were pretty old back then but very nice ,his adopted brother was civil war re-enacted.even back then John had a microphone and speaker in basement to practice great voice even at that time.he was very tall at 10 or 12 I hung out at his house often Rest In Peace John
