Here is a complete June 3, 1962, recording of Smitty’s Old Records show. The tape is a bit rough in places. There’s a long 1330 KFKF intro jingle at the beginning. The 1962 date can be verified by the playing of Grace & Beauty rag of 1909 from “some 53 years ago”, and by a promo for the KFKF Kiddy Club at the John Danz theater which opened in 1962 (followed by a long list of business where you can get tickets). Smitty gets a card from Al Gay, “he enjoys the old records, uh, very much” Smitty says in a way indicating that perhaps Al writes quite often (I’ve heard Al’s name mentioned a few times across the tapes).
