    Steve Knight says:

What nice surprise for a retired broadcast journalist to see! Ted Knightlinger was my father, and someplace in my box of mementos is a photo of me in my baseball uniform being “interviewed” by a now-unknown announcer standing in front of the KTNT news car. The only advice me Dad gave to me long ago was not to use “Knightlinger” on the air because it is an uncommon name. I was always “Knight” on-air and then legally after several years.

    Thanks.

      Sandy Sallean says:

My dad is Bob Piatt. He passed away in 2021 but began his radio career during his childhood years living next door to Tom Read! He remained in radio/tv his whole life as well as continuing his lifelong friendship with Tom. Now because of the internet I find more & more history published about him all the time. I’m thankful for that! As kids we visited many radio stations my dad worked at but I remember going to KSTW channel 11 (tv) the most. We’d also visit stations where his former broadcasting students would end up working such as KRPM downtown Tacoma. We even used an on-air picture for his obituary. It was at KOPR in MT, he was 16 years old! Wonderful memories and an incredible career.

        Lou Robbins says:

Yes, we have several mentions of Bob Piatt here on QZVX. He worked at KIRO-AM in the late 1960s, then KTNT-AM some time after that and some appearances on KTNT TV 11 and more radio. I met him while I worked a Jerry Lewis telethon at KTNT 11 one year. Years later, he called me at KRPM FM (I was on the all-nighter) requesting a wake-up call for an early morning shift he had at a different radio fill-in gig. Nice guy, funny sense of humor. Thanks for checking in and mentioning the great Bob Piatt. Your father was one of the most memorable of the KTNT personalities!
