“Hard to believe but TEN years ago my first Northwest Now went on the air at KBTC. Sure doesn’t feel like a decade. Anyway, about 1,300 thought leaders, decision makers, artists, advocates, policy wonks, politicians and other stakeholders have appeared on the program to share their ideas and talk about the issues that matter to Western Washington. More to come soon on what we’ve got coming Friday night at 7:30.”

    Dick Ellingson says:

He speaks to “thought leaders”? Such as YouTube influencers? But wait, TikTok and Snachpat have now put YouTube influencers in thud* place. Woe is us if the net goes down. Who will lead our thoughts? We might have to put forth a feeble attempt at thinking for our demonstrably incompetent selves.

Northwest Now is more highbrow than what you describe.
It is a sad world if clowns on TikTok can be considered influencers.

        Dick Ellingson says:

It’s a sad world because clowns on TikTok and those other sites are influencing millions of viewers who are also voters.

I don’t mean to disparage Northwest Now, but the implication of being led to change my basic “way of thinking” bothers me. I like discussions that include various points of view as long as freely expressed opinions are respected.
