KGY must have had great ownership and management, for a person to even WANT to work there for so long.

KGY was a Mom & Pop operation all the years of Dick’s career. KGY was owned by the Kerry family until sold in 2014 to the Sacred Heart radio group. https://qzvx.com/2018/12/07/pioneer-station-kgy-olympia/

KGY 1240 was sold. The family still owns two radio stations in Olympia: 96.9FM KAYO and 95.3 KGY.

          Randy Roadz says:

The call letters KGY no longer exist. And 96.9 is KYYO, not KAYO. “KGY” is the moniker for HD Translator K237FR, licensed to Tumwater, Washington, which serves the Olympia, Washington region. It broadcasts with 220 watts at 95.3 FM, relaying the classic hits programming carried over the HD2 subchannel of KYYO in McCleary. K237FR is a Class D translator, and was first licensed in 2014.
