Really enjoyed that clip of Larry Coryell!...At the time of this clip, he was attending the UW....I am a fan of this guy, he chose to relocate to NYC in 1964, to pursue Jazz...there was not much happening in Seattle, concerning Jazz, in the early 1960s...Amazingly, he met Jimi Hendrix in NYC, in early 1968. There are photos of him jamming with Jimi at a very popular nightclub, called The Scene. Hendrix really admired Larry, and rightfully so!...after Hendrix died in September of 1970, Coryell eventually became very well-known in the New York jazz scene. He released many albums during his long career...He died just a few years ago. When Coryell was still based in Seattle, he played in several of the more locally famous Rock bands of the era--Like The Dynamics, and The Counts. Hendrix will always be remembered as being the most famous guitarist from Seattle--but Larry Coryell, who took the road less traveled (Jazz), deserves to be remembered as being the best Jazz guitarist to ever originate from the Northwest!
