Herein, O'Day explains how KYYX/KXA was voice-tracked. In case anyone thought it was live. It sounded disconnected, Ryan & Ryan were mediocre talents at best. Maybe not even cut out for a major market, but it seemed to work in Seattle in 1981 - and voice-tracked. (Sad!)
Last I heard, he was selling real estate in Kent. Gary's real name is Gordon Stephens. I find no information regarding his passing. Do you have source?
