This is KCPQ FOX 13 meteorologist, Abby Acone, putting up with this nonsense during one of her on-air forecast presentations. The tv news producer should try harder to do better. Viewers want the news, traffic and weather without a bunch of crap thrown in. TV news folks need to stop treating the audience like children.

Most "weather girls" in Seattle have social media posts replete with the requisite model poses, bikini, and sausage dress photos. (Ginger Zee comes to mind). While I think Theron Zahn is arguably one of the better weather reporters in town I doubt he can hold a ratings candle to the "nonsense weather and news" today.
The "line" Mr Barer wrote about is barely a thread these days.
There isn't enough real news to fill all the hours, stations and channels now repeating the same stuff day and night.
Boredcasting has reached peak saturation and the decline is REAL.

Lighten up Jason. Fox13 news runs from 4:30am to 10am. They offer lots of time for you to watch the news, weather, and traffic. Adding in some entertainment, even if it's only for a few minutes, isn't gonna kill ya.
Yeah, why don't they include more twerking and dancing? 4 hours of news in the morning leaves plenty of time for crap like that. OR-- you can confine that bullshit to the Ellen Degenerate show and leave it at that.
