KIRO Radio misses it by …THIS MUCH.

The burger chain will open a restaurant in Ridgefield, WA. Ridgefield is not a suburb of Seattle, but is 151.8 miles south, near Vancouver, Wa (just across the border from Portland).

  1. I hadn’t seen that one, but I did notice a couple of articles saying they were “coming to Washington.” Saying something is in Washington is practically useless as a descriptor, especially for something as insignificant as a fast-food restaurant. Is it in Seattle, Bellingham, Spokane, Walla Walla? (Or D.C. or Washington, North Carolina, for that matter.) But I’m sure it got a lot of clicks it wouldn’t have had because of that.

I’ve found that hearing someone talk about “Washington” in regard to local matters is a big sign they have no knowledge of geography.
