It’s down to Kevin The Brit now, the lone personality at KGY 95.3 FM/Olympia. Mr. Stein’s bio here, has been removed from the KGY website, and no mention of weekend/parttime personnel. Maybe it will just be automated all hours other than Kevin’s morning show.

I have been listening to KGY for over 20 years. I am really disappointed with the morning show, brought in from elsewhere (the other day they were discussing fireflies, which we don’t even have!). I sent a comment last week, which was never answered. They were saying how they always check online prices when they are in a store, and order from online, even if it saves $2 !. No support of local businesses. I think this is a huge step backward for your wonderful station.

Two very good points. The fireflies were a dead give-away that the show does not originate in the Pacific Northwest.
Syndicated programs have a certain feel to them.
People pick up on these things and many are turned-off by not having the local connection with the program. Moreso a morning show than Casey’s Top 40, which everyone enjoyed. And Casey told us each week that the show was produced in Hollywood, so no mystery there.

Is Matt Case still there? He was doing the morning show before, now I guess he’s on 96.9 in the same building.

Jason Remington says:
Right. Matt is at KYYO (“KAYO”) 96.9 the Country music station. KGY is on KYYO HD2 and broadcasts on a translator at 95.3 FM. The KGY call letters were actually lost in the sale of AM 1240 to Sacred Heart Radio.

Goodbye radio! Isn’t that what employees and listeners are saying this era? I don’t see an upside.
