2008: Don Riggs retires; KRKO Everett to increase power

June 2008-
The FCC granted KRKO Everett owner, S-R Broadcasting Co., a Construction Permit for new broadcast towers and a power increase, 34,000 watts day and 50,000 watts night.

April 2008-
Ron Olsen, who co-hosted Seattle’s long-running radio program “The Scandinavian Hour,” died April 26 in Norway. He was 69. The radio program ran for 48 years with Olsen and co-host Doug Warne. Last heard on KKNW-AM 1150, the program had aired on a dozen Seattle stations over the years.

Stephen Kilbreath named News Director of KMPS FM, succeeding Don Riggs who recently retired.

David Boze, the 3-6 p.m. talk show host on KTTH 770 has signed a three-year contract extension.
