• TODAY-- Former Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz was terminated Tuesday for allegations of having a relationship with a former staffer and lying about it.

  Diaz and Jamie Tompkins, the former director of communications, denied having a romantic relationship.

  • Some of the names have been redacted, but in reading this PDF you can figure where it speaks about Jamie Tompkins and her relationship with the chief. HOT STUFF!
    I think it is safe to say that Jamie Tompkins does not have a future in Seattle tv news anymore.

    Adrian, When I think about you, I think of the first time I saw you smile. You were
    so shy, but sweet. And I loved the way you chose your words so carefully. I
    wondered what you were filtering out. What made you tick? What made you laugh?
    Why would a person want to take on such a challenging role? Now that I know you,

    • Coincidentally was at lunch yesterday with a former 27 year SPD Sergeant. His response was "I am so glad to be gone from the department".

• The taxpayers will get stuck with the legal bills. It's so Seattle.

  • Louis, and how much do you estimate already has been paid by taxpayers for police chief to buy and maintain a girlfriend using public funds? Then add compensation for all those in charge (mayor, city council etc) to keep looking the other way? But they probably earned it, that must have been hard work. ;-)

• Obvious question: Which tv station is next in line to hire Jamie Tompkins?

  • KIRO-TV could use a little excitement.
    The duel of Jamie T and Liz D sould bring viewers.

    • Maybe. The solution may be Naked News for local stations.

  • Lou, give the girl a break, she may need a little time to divorce and change her name again and her appearance on social media. (I know a woman who's done it eight times.)

• The Office of Police Accountability launched an investigation into Diaz after several people filed complaints alleging that he and Tompkins had a romantic relationship and that he hired her as a subordinate without disclosing that relationship.

  Rumors about Diaz and Tompkins had been swirling for months when KUOW first reported on the allegations publicly, without naming Tompkins. Less than a day after KUOW’s initial report, Diaz fired an employee he accused of inventing the rumor, and the department circulated an internal HR investigation alleging that the employee confessed that he had fabricated the rumor.

  I can't wait for the Netflix movie.
