Reason #51 – Why local tv news sucks big ones

I suppose there is some job security at KING 5 since it will be a News hub for other Tegna stations. Automation and AI will handle much of the labor, so there will be less human interaction during newscasts in markets like Sacramento and Spokane.

Those newscasts will be worse than Seattle News Now was on KSTW. That program was produced in the KPIX/San Francisco studios and was the CBS stations’ version of what is coming down the pike for Tegna.

This will suck for viewers and for the many that will lose their jobs at the stations involved.
