Stephen Kilbreath bounced from KING 5; New anchor added to KOMO 4 roster

A new hire, or re-hire at KOMO 4 is Chris Nguyen. The newly appointed Anchor previously worked at KOMO 4 as a morning intern and traffic producer in 2008. Upon graduating from college, Chris became America’s first Vietnamese anchorman during his time at WAND-TV (NBC) in central Illinois and eventually joined various newsrooms in the inland Northwest and northern California. Nguyen was an anchor at KGO 7/San Francisco, a network anchor at “The National Report,” Scripps News’ nightly news program, and “Main and Wall,” where he connected viewers with the top business and economic stories of the day. Before Scripps, Chris was a DC-based correspondent for CNN, focused on breaking news and national politics for the network’s 1,400+ local news partners, and regularly appeared on its domestic, international, and digital platforms.

This is my last week at KING-5. KING has decided not to use on-air freelance employees anymore, citing budget concerns.
My first time doing traffic on KING was in September 1992, 32 years ago! Most of my work with them has been as a weather and traffic anchor over the last 10-15 years, including a stint as a news anchor for Northwest Cable News.
I have loved working with this team, and will miss the friends I have made, some of which are pictured here.
I will be on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
