Stephen Kilbreath posted on FACEBOOK — **BREAKING NEWS**
This is my last week at KING-5. KING has decided not to use on-air freelance employees anymore, citing budget concerns.
My first time doing traffic on KING was in September 1992, 32 years ago! Most of my work with them has been as a weather and traffic anchor over the last 10-15 years, including a stint as a news anchor for Northwest Cable News.
I have loved working with this team, and will miss the friends I have made, some of which are pictured here.
I will be on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday morning.

We missed. you, Stephen Kilbreath. Welcome back to KOMO 4, Chris Nguyen!
Keep it classy, channel 5.
If KING 5 hired on the basis of merit, rather than skin color, it might possibly restore some trust in the KING operation.
That’s a shame to lose Stephen Kilbreath. It may be partially budget related but similar to Kim Holcomb and Amity Addrisi, he does not fit the “facing race” DEI vibe for King 5.
DEI hires are bad for America.
