On the heels of some negative whispers concerning staff morale and an issue over Breon’s extended medical leave, Breon left that station in June 2021. Having been at FOX 13 just a couple months beyond the one-year mark, Breon then sat out a few months until being hired as PIO for Deschutes County in Bend, Oregon. Not a bad gig for Breon’s sake. What harm can come from that placement?
Let’s see how morale holds up at KOMO 4, where in just a few days, Mark Neerman takes command of that newsroom. Bounced from KPIX/San Francisco, Neerman comes with some baggage. Employees at KPIX breathed with relief when Neerman left the Broadway and Battery broadcast center.
As the news business at all stations suffer everything from DEI hires to layoffs, tensions from interactions with management only make it worse.
