CANON CITY, COLORADO–KRLN first went on the air at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 15, 1947. Broadcast at 1400 on the radio dial, KRLN was on the air from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
That’s another AM & FM combo turning in licenses as radio takes it’s final breath.
Canon City, Colorado is the place.
I stand corrected.
Seems like the owner, if going bust, would try to find a bargain basement buyer vs shutting down. I am glad I sold KBFW in 1998 when buyers were paying good money for radio stations. I cannot believe how cheaply most stations, even FM, have been going for in recent years.
I wondered about some of those bargain basement prices. Reality is the losses would continue after the sale. These days it is like throwing good money after bad. Still, wouldn’t K-Love snap up an AM-FM combo in the Pueblo-Colorado City area?
After all, K-Love only has 33 other stations in Colorado.
