I listened to REWOUND RADIO for a few hours on a recent weekend and found it to be manned by the most knowledgable disc jockeys you will find on the radio these days.

From John Ross:

Saturday morning at 9AM our time, the DJ Hall of Fame show plays, this week featuring airchecks from KFRC, “THE BIG 610”, with John Mack Flanagan and Bill Lee.

Then at 12-Noon, Allan Sniffen is live for 3-hours; then on Sunday at 9AM Allan does another 3-hour live show, followed at 3PM PST by Jon Wolfert live from the Jingle Palace in Dallas. Jon is the founder/CEO of JAM Creative Productions, and of course, was involved with PAM’s early on. I think you’ll especially like Wolfert’s shtick.

Enjoy!

I thought the KFRC Bill Lee airchecks were excellent. Searching online brought up snippets of Bill Lee in the KFRC era, but hours from other stations-formats he had worked at. (archive.org)

Lou, I did a little QZVX promotion on Rewound Radio’s Facebook page. Your website is so well put together, the more radio/tv people who know, the better! https://www.facebook.com/rewoundradio/
For those who don’t do Facebook, here’s my post on Rewound:

Allan, after putting up a little PSA (Public Service Announcement) on the QZVX.com website here in Seattle, THEE GO-TO-PLACE for all Radio Happenings in the Pacific Northwest… about Today’s Rewound Radio DJ Hall Of Fame Show… I’m betting you have a BUNCH of NEW Rewound Radio Fans! Lou Robbins, who runs QZVX posted this earlier: “I listened to REWOUND RADIO for a few hours on a recent weekend and found it to be manned by the MOST KNOWLEDGABLE disc jockeys you will find on the radio these days!” Lou adds, “I thought the KFRC Bill Lee airchecks were excellent!” And since we Pacific Northwest radio folks LOVE our Paul Revere & The Raiders, how about a little “KICKS”… just for kicks?!!

And for all of that great music, https://rewoundradio.com/. I have it on ALL the time. It’s hard to turn it off!!!

Lou, I hope you were listening to RewoundRadio.com this afternoon (1/25/25) at about 2:38PM PST. Allan Sniffen paid a little tribute to you and the QZVX.com website… and he DID play Paul Revere and The Raiders 1966 Hit “KICKS!” I recorded the show, and when I have a few minutes I’ll scope a segment and send you a copy.

I was listening this afternoon and up until slighly past 6pm. Unfortunately, for some time in the afternoon, I turned down the volume while preparing my taxes. Curses! The government taketh away more than the money. They took my moment of fame. After realizing I would have to sell off my collection of Lawrence Welk and Liberace albums, I turned up the volume and continued to enjoy the Oldies, not realizing I had missed a few minutes of glory. I would have dragged the children into the room to hear it, had I known.

SUNDAY–Listening to Wolfert spotlight station jingles that round up or round down their FM frequency position. Not 103.3 but always FM 103
and station monikers that have absolutely nothing to do with call letters. Good stuff!

Radio Station Jingles: 80 Years of Earworms
If you turn on the radio, there’s one thing you’re almost guaranteed to hear: a catchy, over the top jingle proclaiming the name and call letters of the radio station. But where did these little tunes come from? Who makes them? And why are they still so common? In this episode, we explore the history of radio ID jingles, and pack in so many earworms, you’re going to need an exterminator. Featuring Jeanna Isham of Dreamr Productions, Jon Wolfert of JAM Creative Productions, and Erik Huber of ReelWorld Productions.
