Los Angeles had their own Dick Curtis

Dick Curtis was a comedian. His real name was Dick Curtis. This comedian from Indiana was often seen on Los Angeles tv hosting his own variety program (KHJ 9 and later KTTV 11) and for a while he was the host of “Queen For A Day”. Curtis came to Los Angeles from Indianapolis as a teenager, spent 18 months as a merchant seamen and served three years in the US Marines. He wrote and produced a weekly Marine radio-TV show during the Korean War. He appeared in the “Roaring 20s Revue“ in San Francisco and in nightclubs, industrial shows And television in the United States, Canada, and Australia, starring in his own 90 minute TV show in Dayton Ohio years earlier. He also appeared in the network TV shows “He and She“ and the Jonathan Winters show.
