July 27, 1986– Joey Randall, former KIXI FM announcer, is doing weekend work on KLSY AM and FM… Alan Ray, KIXI 880 news man, has been designated business and financial report anchorman. Ray previously worked at KIRO and KQKT… Michael Cook has introduced a Saturday night “all oldies and request show” at 6 PM Saturday on KMPS AM and FM. The weekly feature includes, in the 11 o’clock hour, a countdown of top requests of the evening… Brian Halquist, previously sports director at a Great Falls Montana station, is the new sports director at KAMT 1360, Tacoma.

March 9, 1986 — Bingham Broadcasting company has announced the sale of KBRO Bremerton, to Everest Broadcasting for a $1.4 million. Principles of Everest broadcasting are Bill Baldwin and Jerry Dennon. Dennon is an entertainment broker who lives in Kitsap County. The two also owned a station in Wenatchee.
Bingham Broadcasting acquired KBRO AM and KHIT (KWWA) in 1984. Late last year, Bingham Broadcasting announced the sale of its for Alaska radio stations as well.
Alan Hopwood, general manager KBRO, said the Bremerton station would continue to grow under new owners, and that no changes in the adult contemporary format nor in the staff are expected.

Ross Shafer, TV host and comic, will fill in this week on KJR, while Gary Lockwood, morning host, is leading a tour to Portugal. Shafer is host of KING TVs “Almost Live.” He has not had radio experience, except as a fill-in host last year for a daytime talk show on KING AM

Pete Gross, KIRO radio sports announcer, has been named sportscaster of the year by the National Sportscasters and Sports Writers Association. This is the third time in four years that Gross has won the honor. He is best known to sports fans as the voice of the Seahawks, a job he has had since the team’s first game, broadcast in 1976.

Judith Larson, former KBAE reporter has been named news director at KWYZ 1230, Everett… Staff changes at KFRE include new morning personality Terry Williams, who has had brief stints at KSEA, KIRO and KIXI FM. Dale Good, newsman, and Jerry Kay, morning personality, have left KFRE.
