April 1985 – Victor Stredicke
Delilah-Rene’s persistence has paid off in pressing a small format variation on the folks at KLSY-FM. Her weeknight program segment, “Lights-Out,” has been twinkling since October, providing a gentle time, appropriate for lighting a fire, pulling out a book or just winding down. And this week it expands. “Lights-Out” features favorite love songs, listener dedications, and when you least expect it, occasional snatches of poetry. Monday the program will air from 9 p.m. to midnight. Occasional additional features are planned; Monday’s program will include a half-hour segment featuring “leading ladies” of the music world, such as Melissa Manchester, Bette Midler and Diana Ross.
Mike James plans a “West Coast special edition” of his regular nostalgia feature, “The Sixties Spotlight,” at noon Saturday, on KAMT, 1360 kHz. The focus is on beach music from Southern California and traditional Northwest rock, including groups such as the Wailers and the Sonics.
