William Schonely, active in radio and television in Seattle for the past five years, has been named news director of Radio KAYO.
Schonely will also continue as sportscaster for hockey games of the Seattle Totems, which are seen exclusively on KAYO in this area.
Before joining KAYO, Schonely was on the staff of KOMO Radio and TV and Radio KJR in the news and sports field. Prior to that he was associated with WAFB-TV and Radio. He started his radio career in the United States Marine Corps while assigned to Armed Forces Radio in the Pacific Theater.
Schonely, his wife, Barbara, and their three children, live in the Queen Anne district.
