The team split up about a year or two later. Bob Adkins moved over to KOMO 1000. He became General Manager of that station.
Ryan & Ryan, a morning team that opened at KAYO in 1978, were not as good, not funny and their time at KYYX was voice-tracked. Not as funny as Adkins & Johnson by a long shot. You had to witness the KING morning team to know the difference.

Am I to assume that the Bob Adkins who was half of the Adkins and Johnston team on KING radio was the same Bob Adkins who was children’s show host “Addie Bobkins” on KPTV Channel 12 in Portland in the early 1960s?
Addie Bobkins enjoyed a long career in Portland radio and tv, but didn't venture north to Seattle. In addition to radio at KISN, Bobkins had a tv show on Channel 12/Portland. A kids show for a few years, but I think he also served as host of other shows on tv. Stumptownblogger.com has an exhaustive collection of Portland radio and tv material. ADDIE BOBKINS at a Portland record hop.
Bob Adkins, on the other hand, was the Seattle radio guy.
