Danny Dwyer and Jake Byron exited last week, and now 98.7 The Bull KUPL/Portland has announced the addition of Jamie Tanchyk as midday host.
Tanchyk begins this chapter starting Monday, July 28th. You may recognize the name, Tanchyk had served as APD/midday host at Rhythmic Hot AC KHTP 103.7 in the Seattle-Tacoma market for seven years until November 2021.
Longtime Portland market AC channel 105.1 changes format to Sports, as “1080 The Fan” KFXX begins simulcasting on July 22. The station will also continue to serve as home for University of Oregon sports play-by-play. That’s the end of Hot AC on 105.1 after 27 years. MORE

Seattle has another pirate broadcaster, heard in downtown areas at 95.3 FM. They can expect a knock on the door from the FCC at some point in the future…another pirate possibly at 98.7 FM…Olympia has several rockers, all legal. Roxy/KRXY 94.5, KGY/Oldies 95.3, KXXO Soft Rock 96.1, 100.3 Classic Rock, Sunny 102.1 beaming in from Aberdeen, 103.3 KMAS/Shelton, 106.5 Classic Rock KGHO. At times, listeners will hear a couple Eastern Washington top 40 stations. The South Sound is covered with a good selection of music stations, apart from anything available from Seattle.
