Spokane station splits into three; Carroll crashes Raible’s KIRO interview; HULU app to be discontinued

Spokane Public Radio (SPR) has reimagined their broadcast lineup, split into three distinct, full-time stations designed to cater to listener passions: SPR News, SPR Classical, and SPR Jazz.

A Station for Every Mood
In response to shifting listener habits and a desire to deliver more focused, high-quality content, SPR has restructured its frequencies into three specialized stations. The change ensures listeners get more of what they tune in for, without compromise.

SPR News (91.1 FM KPBX): Your Window to the World If you’re the kind of person who starts the day with a cup of coffee and Morning Edition, or winds down with the insightful storytelling of All Things Considered, SPR News is your new home. Broadcasting on 91.1 FM KPBX, this station is all about keeping you informed and engaged.

SPR Classical (91.9 FM KSFC): Where Timeless Music Lives For those moments when only a Bach fugue or a Tchaikovsky concerto will do.

SPR Jazz (90.3 FM KPBZ): The Pulse of Cool If jazz is your jam, SPR Jazz on 90.3 FM KPBZ is about to become your go-to.

A New Chapter for Spokane Public Radio
Why the Change? As listener habits evolve, so must the way public radio serves its community. The old model of mixing news, classical, and jazz on a single station worked for a time, but it often left listeners longing for more consistency.

During an interview with Seahawks Radio Network play-by-play voice Steve Raible before Thursday’s preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders, Schneider was asked what it was like to see former coach Pete Carroll come out the opposing tunnel at Lumen Field.
