DeeDee Sun rejoined Linzi Sheldon at the KIRO 7 morning anchor desk this week, after being on maternity leave.
Prior to KIRO 7, DeeDee held a newsroom internship at ABC News-KABC-TV/Los Angeles (summer 2012). In early 2013, as a Meredith-Cronkite Fellow at KPHO (CBS) in Phoenix, she reported and anchored a package on Covid opt-outs.
That spring, she interned as a reporter/on-air talent at Boston Neighborhood Network (Feb–May 2013).
Sun’s first full-time TV job was at WICU/WSEE (NBC/CBS) in Erie, Pennsylvania (July 2013–July 2015), a DMA #142 market. As a multimedia journalist, reporter, and fill-in anchor/producer.
In September 2015, she advanced to KWCH 12 (CBS) in Wichita, Kansas (DMA #69), as a multimedia journalist and weekend morning anchor (2015–August 2017). She solo-anchored two-hour newscasts on Saturdays and Sundays.
Sun joined KIRO 7 (DMA #13) in August 2017 as a multimedia journalist and reporter, quickly transitioning to general assignment reporting and later as an anchor.
