April 1, 1928—Extensive remodeling of the KFQW main studio, located in the Continental Hotel, has just been completed, according to an announcement made by the management yesterday. In the original design of the studio an acoustic plaster was used. A celotex ceiling and wall drapes have now made the studio one of the finest in the Northwest and reports from listeners indicate that the acoustics have been greatly improved.
KFQW was licensed to North Bend. Studios were located at the Claremont Hotel in Seattle and later moved to the Continental Hotel. KFQW was the first radio station, north of Los Angeles, to go to 24 hour broadcast service [August 31, 1930]. The station went silent in the early 1930s.
