September 30, 2025— Coinciding with his 10-year anniversary- Reggie Aqui announced his departure from ABC7 in a tearful on-air farewell. His exit came amid broader changes at KGO, following the departure of anchor Julian Glover jweeks earlier.
Reggie Aqui started as a reporter and anchor at WLUK in Green Bay, Wisconsin, then moved to WDJT in Milwaukee, he advanced to KHOU in Houston, later joining CNN’s Atlanta headquarters, where he anchored for CNN.com Live and freelanced for CNN International.
In October 2015, Aqui joined KGO-TV (ABC7) in San Francisco as the morning news anchor for ABC7 Mornings, a role he held for a decade. He co-anchored alongside talents like Natasha Lyonne, Mike Nicco, and others. His work earned him a Murrow Award for investigative reporting, and he even made a cameo as a news anchor in Marvel’s 2018 film Ant-Man and the Wasp, set in San Francisco.
